A whole lot of me ...

… well, how could that be bad, really? Bueller? If you are craving more of me than this particular forum provides, and you happen to be in Thunder Bay, then please come meet me in person this Tuesday, February 1, at 7 PM at the Waverly Public Library. I’ll be conducting a workshop called “Making the Cut,” in which I’ll provide some insights into the behind-the-scenes process of choosing and editing pieces for an anthology — using mine, among others, as an example — and other strategies for editing your own work.

Speaking of that anthology: Back in the summer, when the grass was still green, and the pond was still wet, and the air was still clean, I hid in my basement from my children and did a radio interview about how they were created and about the book — And Baby Makes More: Known Donors, Queer Parents and Our Unexpected Families — that was inspired by their creation. That interview, with Dayna McLeod for the fabulous No More Potlucks radio show, Dykes on Mikes, is now available here on iTunes. (The more technically minded of you might be able to tell me how to embed it directly into this post, but for now, just go to iTunes. For the impatient among you: the interview starts about seven minutes into the show). I say “um” more than I’d like to.

And, finally, And Baby Makes More is heading to the Windy City — but not before dropping in on Windsor, Ontario! On Valentine’s Day, donor extraordinaire (oh, and really good writer) Rob Gray and I will be reading at the Windsor Pride Community Education & Resource Centre, which is located at 422 Pelissier Street. It starts at 7:30 PM, which should leave you plenty of time to go out for a romantic dinner afterwards.

And then, on Thursday, February 17, we’ll head to Chicago to do a reading with my coeditor, Chloe Brushwood Rose, and contributor Mary Bowers. Please join us at Women and Children First Books at 7:30 PM!

See ya!
