Trees'n'bacon

Shabbat shalom! It's that time of year, again: when interfaith families (well, Jewish/non-Jewish interfaith families) do the Christmukkah dance/negotiation. This year, Rachel is kind of gunning for a tree, and I'm kind of not so good with that. It's a totally random bit of religious hypocrisy — like, how bacon is totally kosher but ham isn't — but for me, having a tree crosses some line, pushing us into territory I just can't quite fathom just yet. So, today, I'm over at Today's Parent, talking about the tree and everything else.
